What a movie this is, one that makes you silent. Mark Ruffalo as Robert Bilott (lawyer) tackling DuPont for poisoning a village and eventually the world, yes you read that right. Usually with true stories that have been filmed that are rather difficult but above all boring. Well in the real world things don't go the way Hollywood likes to portray in movies. It is therefore not a fast film, but fortunately the story has not become entangled in the details. Everything that was important was well explained. Furthermore, it is the well-known battle of David vs Goliath but impressively portrayed. How greed rules and one shits on the people one tramples on. Of course it's an American company and story, but don't believe it can't happen anywhere else. But now back to the movie. The Movie is clearly filmed with a filter to make the colors a bit grayer which works well. Mark Ruffalo plays a fantastic role as the understated lawyer Robert Bilott and Anne Hathaway as his wife becomes increasingly important during the film. Tim Robbins as Robert Bilott's boss also plays the star of heaven. The story is nicely constructed and each year that this case continues is a chapter in the film. I was silent when the movie ended. Is it recommended? Yes!!! In fact, everyone should see this movie. If only to see what greed can do...

After the movie, let the information about DuPont sink in and realize how companies like chemical company DuPont don't care about anything, as long as it makes money!

That is director Todd Haynes' message to the viewer. We see rancher Wilbur Tennant (William (Bill) Camp) visiting attorney Robert Bilott (Mark Ruffalo) to complain about the many deaths among his livestock. The farmer believed that the company had polluted a river that his cattle had drunk and had become ill from. Initially, Bilott sees no case in this, also due to the fact that he is a corporate lawyer, so this would go against his normal course of action.

After Biliott visits the farmer in Virginia, he gradually comes to the conclusion that there is more going on here than he first thought. And then we see Bilott's battle against DuPont ignite which resulted in an impressive 2 hour film!

After this film, we removed all pans with Teflon from the kitchen. You can pick them up at your own risk!

A rating of 8+ for the film!

In Belgium, this environmental drama is directly linked to the recent PFOS affair and 3M, but in essence it is about the same thing here: non-degradable chemicals (forever chemicals... nice word!) that end up in the environment, and even worse, in our organism. And you see how long it takes to bring a multinational to its knees. The bigger and richer the company, the more legal remedies they can use to their advantage. Respect for lawyer Billot, who devoted part of his life to bringing justice. A downright interesting film in the tradition of Silkwood and Erin Brockovich.

Yes, and I will also look at my Tefal pan differently from tomorrow.
