Uchû Senkan Yamato plot

2199, the alien race the Gamilas rains radioactive meteorites on Earth making the surface uninhabitable. Humanity lives withdrawn in cities deep underground. With a year to go before the radioactivity penetrates there too, the people receive a message from Queen Starsha of planet Iscandar. Starha claims to have a device, the "Cosmo-Cleaner D", that can cleanse the Earth from the dangerous radiation.
