"Two daredevils battle for a fortune in gold, and it will take an army to stop them!"

The story is set in Mexico during the 1913 revolution. Juan is the leader of a bandit family, eager to rob the large bank of Mesa Verde. By chance, he meets John Mallory, an IRA explosives expert, who is on the run from the British. Juan persuades John to help the bandits rob the bank. John, meanwhile, has made contact with the revolutionary people and plans to use his dynamite for their plans.

Coburn has a great face for a movie like this. I really enjoyed this movie because of its strong acting. Sometimes the flashbacks are indeed a bit confusing and sometimes they don't help continuity. Other than that, there isn't much to say about this film. Nicely shot and Morricone's musical contribution is again excellent.

The theme of this film changed a bit compared to the Dollars trilogy, but I liked that.

Maybe a bit on the (too) long side, but otherwise a fine "western".
