The kids movie from last Friday night! A forgotten film, much less in the picture than The Lion King, Aladdin and others.

All in all it wasn't too bad for me, the children thought it was fantastic and they are still the target audience.

Nice animation, the technique has made it more realistic since then, but beauty can be discussed in this as far as I'm concerned.

The story is of course known but contains some serious breakdowns. Pain & Panic can first easily overpower Pegasus and a few scenes later the reverse happens with equal ease. Ditto with Zeus & the Titans. The first attempt goes terribly wrong, when Hercules is there, everything works.

3.5*

Hercules comes from the golden 90s of Disney, but if you look closely you can see that in the 2nd half there is more laziness. Hercules focuses more on humor than on a decent story with strong songs. However, experienced rotten who cooperated on this. Greek mythology is completely cut into a few nice figures. The focus is on funny characters for the children, while ironically you regularly come across a pun or hidden joke that is more intended for adults.

Hercules is a film without a soul and seems to be mainly band work, driven by the cramped adherence to the same formula that is gradually starting to dry out. With successors Mulan and Tarzan it got just a little better, but after that a chunky course started with occasional small success, interspersed by many misses.

Hades still makes some good, but that's mainly because the rest is so bad. Too bad, because he deserves a better movie. It doesn't get annoying either, but Hercules just looks cheap and is rather annoying.

This one disappointed me on review. The story is paper thin. Normally that is not such a problem, as long as there is enough to compensate. With an interesting main character or nice songs for example. Unfortunately, that is not the case in this film. Hercules is a pretty boring character and I found the songs more annoying than beautiful. The most positive in this movie are the bad guys, Pain and Panic and especially Hades.
