“Ha ha! Man, that's what I call a swinging party.”

Seen countless times and The Jungle Book has lost none of its magic. Before that time, the animation and how everything is drawn is really amazing, and you can almost see the jungle come to life before your eyes. The world of The Jungle Book splashes off the screen, and then there are also the fun characters and the timeless story. Mowgli, Bagheera, Baloo, Shere Kan, Kaa etc. Everyone knows these characters. And that is also the great strength of The Jungle Book, it is a recognizable story about growing up, educating and letting go. That's why the last part is still perfect for me.

You could say I almost grew up with the Jungle book. Already got this fantastic story in my childhood in a kind of reading book. Then of course I saw it on TV. And now finally on Blu-ray. Looks good for such an old movie. Well repaired, good colors and good sound. Also nice are the many extras with even an alternative ending. I thought the aversion of mother and father was good in itself, only the whole after piece does violence to this otherwise sweet film, so it's okay.

Of course, like in The Lion King, the story is quite simple. Not a big deal because it is of course mainly intended for children. I think the characters of all animals are actually the best. Especially the elephants that actually came across to me as "Here come the Archers". The monkeys also had a very nice role. Actually, I found the snake one of the least roles, although the actions of the snake are made fun. All the characters are well portrayed. And then I think especially of children who get to know the entire animal kingdom in almost an hour and a half. The songs and voices are also exquisitely crafted. In my experience everything took much longer, but it is still only a 1 hour and 18 minutes film.

Listened to the film as I often do in English with Ned. subs.

Movie 3.5

Image 4.0

Sound 4.0

Extras 5.0

Another one of those Disney classics at the time. They don't make like that anymore. Disney is known for its many songs in movies, but apart from this - because sometimes a bit too much of a good thing - they are recognizable nostalgic moments. Also for this Jungle Book. Furthermore, the characters are known and known one by one. Great characters are featured with Balloe, Bagheera, Kaa, Shere Khan and Mowgli.

The VR of recent years tries to bring that magic back from the original, but despite the beautiful images it only half succeeds. Visually this old squatter is still of a good standard, especially with the rework, but it is still nice that this is from 1967 (or even older if you look at other prints).

Great story that appeals to the imagination, made me dream away as a child. Animals always do great in movies, it's no different here. Especially in terms of experience a nice animation film, especially as a child, but secretly also as an adult ...
