Disney Classic?
Netflix has been uploading more and more Disney classics lately; a good excuse to give some films a review. After Aladdin it was Beauty and the Beast's turn and I have to say that this one has stood the test of time a lot less well for me. Of course, as a small child you experience these kinds of films completely differently, and I found the film intensely magical and moving at the time. As an adult I found it mostly childish, the songs irritating and many scenes way too sweet.
I thought the animation was fine, although I liked the style of Aladdin better. However, I won't deny that the films have some beautiful songs, although they are not my thing at all in my case. However, the film will continue to be held in high regard, and in my opinion it is justified. For me, the movie used to be beautiful (at many moments even a bit scary!), and I was not to be turned away from the television. However, now that I have looked at this from a different perspective, I find this film for adults less interesting. For me it was therefore no more than a snack that I found particularly enjoyable because of the nostalgic feeling that was evoked in me and to experience the difference with how I saw the film in the past, and how I watched it now.

Still my personal favorite Disney cartoon, and for good reason.
Because the adult fascinating story touches me deep in my heart every time 
Lovely fun characters and beautiful locations complete the party.

Beauty and the Beast
One of Disney's best animated films. Imaginative, characterful and timeless. The greatest asset of Beauty and the Beast is the beautiful soundtrack. Especially the main track has become a classic. It all looks great and the part in the Beast's castle is especially well done. With excellent voices from Benson, O'Hara, Lansbury and Corti, among others. And the "and they live happily ever after" ending that belongs to the genre. A true fairytale classic.
