"Some call him bad. They call him dad."

But then one day he meets three little stubborn orphaned girls who look at him and see something in him that no one has ever seen before: a possible daddy. The world's greatest villain has just met his greatest challenge: three little girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes.

I only knew part 2, which I found quite annoying because of the Minions. Still gave this one a chance. The Minions don't irritate here. In fact, they are quite a nice addition. But other than that I couldn't do much with the film. I'm not a fan of the animation style and the story just didn't grab my attention. Furthermore, nothing really special in any way, unless it is Gru who doesn't start out as a bad person and slowly thaws, from the start he is quite a good person, only a bit orphaned from the rest of society. That's pretty cool. Of course there is another cute girl who is not afraid of anything. We know that now, but it still works every time. 2.0*.

“I'm applying for a villain loan. I go by the name of Vector. It's a mathematical term, represented by an arrow with both direction and magnitude.”

Excellent animated film. Despicable Me has a strong and original story, and the animation looks great. The decision to bring a "bad guy" and three young children together is a golden move, and their interaction produces some humorous and sentimental moments. The youngest of the three (Agnes) is especially great. The film is very funny and action-packed, and especially in the last part all registers open. Despicable Me once again shows the magic of animation, not to mention the awesome Minions.

A real children's animation with the Minions as an American version of the Smurfs. Good for sales and not unexpectedly later also elaborated with own films. The film has its moments now and then, but is mainly accessible with childish humor. The youngest will enjoy this, but that's all.
