We are already part 4, a series that does well with children and still raises enough money to continue. At the same time, the formula remains somewhat the same, so don't expect many surprises. It is smart that some figures are now really cameos so that it is not overcrowded. The role of Lucy is a lot less interesting than before. And the minions have gradually become the filler of the film to supplement the thin story with loose gags. Children will benefit more from this. I'll forget about the movie next week.

Not a good film, but the pace was so high that I didn't really have time to get bored. Some moments (especially around the family) were still quite okay and enough parts with Minions were still funny. But otherwise typical Illumination: a lot of crowds and a lot of noise. People probably think that today's children need that, but I find it quite tiring because it is mainly noisy without a real vision behind what to do with it (Uncut Gems was also extremely busy, but that form was needed to express the chaos of that world and especially to show Adam Sandler's stress). 2.5*.

Another lazy sequel with a weak story and an incoherent script. Gru [Steve Carell] and his family must go into hiding after new arch-enemy Maxime Le Mal [Will Ferrell] escapes from prison. Gru and his followers have to get used to their new environment and identity, Maxime trains cockroaches for his great revenge and some Minions transform into 'The Fantastic Five' as part of an experimental training program by AVL director Silas [Steve Coogan]. Exaggerated animations, accompanying voice performances and a striking dose of violence and cruel humor that I would not recommend to any child.
