Wonderful movie! Mindless action and gore from the first to the last minute. This is what a Mad Max movie should be like. For those who whine that there is no depth to it, they should watch Forrest Gump.

Watched it in IMAX yesterday in Antwerp and with that image and sound it is even more overwhelming. I wonder if it will also be the same at home on your small TV, but this film is really a summer blockbuster made for the cinema with a bowl of popcorn, so be sure to watch it there too.

Also much better than Fury Road, which I personally found disappointing.

The only downside for me was Chris Hemsworth, I just can't take him seriously as a bad guy. All I see is an Avenger who is going to pull out his hammer at any moment, but there isn't much he can do about that. Furthermore, I thought he was a bit too retarded to be a leader.

Excellent film in which a girl is separated from her mother by a motorcycle gang. Slightly less non-stop action compared to its predecessor, nevertheless the film is never boring. The entire decoration looks beautiful again with the insane vehicles, costumes and characters. And of course plenty of spectacle. A narrow 4.0 stars.

A feast for the eyes and ears. Let me start with the negative points. First is Chris Hemsworth who plays way too much of a caricature with too much irony while the rest of the film and actors are much more serious. Despite all the nonsense, you should play a role like that straight. He poses no threat and he doesn't fit in with the film. The ending is a weaker part because it also revolves more around him. In any case, the film lasts just a little too long because the last, roughly 20 minutes, Miller no longer manages to impress and doesn't bring much new news. Although I was not bored, especially because the pacing remains delightful, the film just ends a bit tepidly.

The film is also not an adrenaline rush like Fury Road was, but that's fine. This makes the film not a repeat, but a great sister to that action spectacle. And the action that is there can last for several minutes without becoming overkill - somewhere in the middle there is another great chase of about 20 minutes that remains fascinating. But there are more action scenes at a slower speed than in Fury Road, sometimes also in 1 location. Nice change. The camera work is great, the music is good, but especially the sound of engines really thunders in Dolby Atmos and the scenes are always completely clear. In terms of action spectacle, there is little that can match this.

The film takes place in five chapters and continues to develop. The best part is probably chapter 1, which is a good mini-movie in itself with sometimes impressive shots of desert dunes.

After five seconds you already know that the film is set in Australia, I wonder if that was so explicitly shown in the other four films. 4.0*, but Fury Road is better.

Unfortunately, the story didn't interest me at all, 2.5 hours that I won't get back, just like the Apes recently. It also took quite a while before Anna Taylor came into the picture after an hour. The hall was also quite empty with about 10 people, and when I look at ticket sales it's not exactly booming yet. I'm afraid this is going to be a flop, except for the people who like this genre. Apparently I've been watching too many movies lately.
