Deep in the Dovre Mountains, a troll has been imprisoned for a thousand years. Nice popcorn movie, with a nice story about the Norse mythology about trolls, I thought it was well done. The cast also plays very nice, and with a very nice leading lady too Other than that, the Troll looks very nicely made and the action is well done, the result is a fun popcorn movie that never gets boring.

Lots of horror clichés with a touch of folklore. At one point I had to think of the movie Sint

But nevertheless a very amusing film with many beautiful images. Highly recommended if you have Netflix.

Disappointing unfortunately, this Norwegian Godzilla variant from the director of The Wave and Tomb Raider. The special effects are impressive at times, but plot and characters fall short and the tone of the film is just a bit too bland to keep the attention optimal. The beginning is reasonable, but gradually things drop to a questionable level.

Troll

These kinds of movies are always on my mind. This movie is very much like King Kong and Godzilla, with a touch of Jurassic park (The cup with rippling water). A creature has been discovered and now humanity must eradicate it at all costs. Then you often have 'the good guys' who want to keep him alive and 'the bad guys' who want to fire a (not yet tested) missile at him. Nice cliché, but that's how it often works with these types of films. Eventually the Troll still dies and you get the ending as in Godzilla (1998). We also see that there may still be a troll alive. In other words, an open ending. The film looks beautiful and the acting performances were also fine.

I also saw Trolljegeren and I personally liked that one better. A small group of people looking for mysterious trolls filmed with a handy cam That made it more unique for me.

3 stars.
