Troll 2 plot
After paleontology professor Nora Tidemann successfully stops a giant troll, she is called upon once again by the government to help. She, political advisor Andreas Isaksen, and Major Kristoffer Holm are faced with their most dangerous mission yet: a dangerous new troll has awakened and is on the prowl. The clock is ticking as the creature’s path of destruction widens and they must overcome impossible odds to save their homeland from destruction.

More of the same: nice special effects, a weak plot, dull humor, and annoying characters. Here and there, the film comes alive, and director Roar Uthaug reminds us that he once had a bright future ahead of him, but overall, this Norwegian Godzilla version falls woefully short.

A decent sequel. The story expands somewhat on the first installment and offers little new. The execution, like the first installment, is excellent. The film has a good pace, and the action, suspense, and adventure are well-balanced. The troll spectacle is also entertaining. The acting is excellent. Furthermore, the film is visually very strong with beautiful CGI. Good popcorn entertainment, but not innovative compared to the first installment. 3.0/3.5
