The Expendables 3 plot

"New team. New attitude. New mission."

Barney (Sylvester Stallone), Christmas (Jason Statham) and the rest of the team come face to face with Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson), who co-founded "The Expendables" with Barney years ago. Stonebanks later became a ruthless arms dealer, forcing Barney to kill him, or so he thought. Stonebanks, who escaped death, has come up with a plan to put an end to The Expendables' team. Barney, however, has very different plans.

Least part of the Expendables series if only because of the switch in cast because Sly finds it necessary to face the enemy with a new team and let that group just not be interesting. Especially because the charm lies in that group, old well-known action heroes, red meat eaters, testosterone bombs, that is exactly what makes the film series.

Fortunately, the old heroes show up anyway to help Sly out of the fire when things don't go as planned with the new team. Furthermore, a movie as usual in the series, I have a lot of violence for you there, not very believable but what the hell.

Contentless action film, nothing more, nothing less...

Also for this film I pull a 7 out of the "top hat of reviews".

The film was not boring, there was enough action in it and the sometimes somewhat bland humor was also present in this third of "The Expendables".

If a film meets that requirement, being able to watch the whole thing without having the idea of wasting time, it can count on at least a 7 from me.

Too bad the story is a bit simple and avoids depth. Nice for after a busy day?

Barney Ross [Sylvester Stallone] decides to disband his old team after a showdown with arch-rival Stonebanks [Mel Gibson] in which Hale Caesar [Terry Crews] is seriously injured. With help from Bonaparte [Kelsey Grammar], Barney assembles a new team of hungry novices, including a hyperactive (and rather annoying) Antonio Bandeeras as Galgo. It seems like an attempt to appeal to a younger audience, but of course the new faces can't match the old hands. Stallone was one of three writers who mistakenly thought it would be wise to take a more serious, sometimes melodramatic approach. Fortunately, the action is fine.
