Taken is an exciting genre film with a strong lead role for Liam Neeson. A bit juicy here and there but hey why bother with that? Great movie.

Good exciting action movie. Good role by Liam Neeson, but the rest of the cast also acts well. I'm not a big fan of the sometimes flashy editing, but the action is quite easy to follow.
This movie isn't top notch, but it's entertaining. Fortunately, the playing time does not last too long.

Taken was never going to win the originality prize. Still, the story, written by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen, is entertaining and told with great speed. This makes the film look good.
With his tall, rather lanky physique, Neeson isn't the most obvious choice as an action hero. Still, Neeson is a great actor, who has no trouble convincing as an action hero. What he lacks in his physical appearance, he more than makes up for in his acting skills.
Taken is fairly simple in design, which is refreshing in the age of overwhelming action movies. The film became a success and got 2 more sequels.
