Bah. Complete mess.

Anyone who's seen Taken, stick with it, and don't let this sequel ruin it.

I started to find the characters annoying pretty quickly. Famke and Liam are among my favorite actors, and it was very painful to see them so poorly portrayed.

I just don't get it. Did they need the money? Were they tied to a contract? Or is Olivier Megaton such a bad director...

The story is thin, but that doesn't necessarily ruin a movie.

Action scenes were an unbelievable jumble of dizzying half-second images that I wanted to skip.

A scene of hopping cunt [Maggie Grace] being chased on the rooftops was also very weird. Up close you see Maggie running, and from a distance you are watching a stuntwoman who runs with a completely different attitude and speed. Disgusting.

Bryan calls Kim to tell her what to do, but of course she declines. Then you, as a viewer, are obliged to see a whimpering dumb blonde that you would rather give a bullet yourself, just to get the story moving.

Oh yes, Kim has failed her driver's license twice in the US, where she learns to drive an automatic. But in Istanbul she drives like an accomplished driver in a manual gearbox. What is that !

I don't want to spend any more energy on this.

This movie gets half a star from me, but only because I can't give anything.

After the surprisingly nice first part, then this successor, unfortunately inferior in everything. The film starts off pretty quickly without too much of a complicated build-up. The location is also fine and quite atmospheric. But nowhere is the action as hard as the first part. Camera work is also a bit chaotic and Neeson is just a bit too smart and good for me here. Was the first part still credible somewhere, this sequel seems to care less. That also makes the action a bit lukewarm. Other than that, not much memorable villain and not a single special moment. No, it's a pretty tame movie after all. 2.0*,

Sequel to 2008's Taken, this was an unexpected action smash hit that kick-started Liam Neeson's career. A sequel was therefore inevitable, but unfortunately it still took 4 years before this actually happened.

Despite the fact that part 2 was also a great success, it adds very little to the original. It's all a bit more of the same. This made part 2 a lot less enjoyable for me than part 1.
