Reasonable.

It's nice to see where Woo's Once A Thief made its mark, and the typical Chan tricks are also okay. But that gives you the most important positives of this film.

I recently realized that between all the martial arts violence, I had never seen a real film by Chan as a director. I looked up this duo of films, and although it is quite fun, it cannot match the better HK action films.

A mix of Indiana Jones, the happy thieves HK films from the 80s and the typical Chan antics. The acting is very limited, the story is boring and the European locations don't really do justice. Even gets a bit silly sometimes, like the scene with the hot air balloon.

But otherwise funny and smooth. Not exactly high-quality, but not a bad choice as filler for a dead moment. Although I do hope that Chan's other films are of a slightly higher level.

2.0*

Good Jackie Chan movie.

First of all, the stunts are very good in this part. Jackie Chan certainly put a lot of thought into this at that point. A lot can and can be broken during car chases and Jackie Chan also often plays with his life and accomplishes the most incredible things. (literally too - because he had an accident that still bothers him - this was also visible in the credits) Really wonderful!
Other things could have been better paid attention to. The music, for example, meant that I didn't take much of the film (which had lame humor anyway) seriously, even at times when this should have been the case. Unfortunately, I also thought it was a bit lacking in atmosphere.
The characters were still okay. The opponents like those four womentowards the end were also fun. Although they could have had a better introduction.

I'm curious about the sequels. Part three is already ready on the shelf. I should buy part two at the CeX for example.
