"Unmask the legend."
The sweet-natured Dr. Yang (Rongguang Yu) is Iron Monkey during the night hours; a fighter against the corrupt government. The governor blackmails famed doctor and Kung-Fu master Wong Kei-Ying (Yen) to help capture Iron Monkey. When Wong Kei-Ying learns about Dr. Yang's motives, he helps him fight an evil Kung-Fu monk who is out to defeat Iron Monkey.

Good film in which a doctor takes on an oppressor of the people as a masked hero. The many fight scenes are absolutely spectacular and lightning fast (imaged quite simply so that they come into their own even better). The short running time does work in favor of the film here, because the story is not too much.

Robin Hood/Zorro in a kung fu jacket. Indeed an excellent martial arts packed with action and humor. It's been a while since I've seen something where the humor really works well in this genre. Chief Fox in particular came across as very funny in the first half. Really good laugh at times. You'd almost think it's a parody, but it isn't. The fights look spectacular, partly due to the use of strong editing and a lot of special effects. All the laws of gravity are defied but who cares? The fight on the posts is unbelievable to watch. Top shelf entertainment.

Looked again and half up. What a great movie this remains. The speed is good and many tightly directed fight scenes. The final battle is brilliant. Also a lot of fresh camera views and movements. Great movie with a high rewatch value.
