Slightly less sequel.

This third part is broken by a number of lesser supporting characters. Pesci is often too emphatically present, whereas in the previous part that was still just okay. But it is also mainly the role of Russo that does not catch on. Annoying addition.

Film itself offers little new, but that's logical for the third part in a formula film series. It's all about the interaction between Glover and Gibson again, unfortunately it's a little less present. It also seems a little less dark, so the police section lacks a bit of punch.

Two hours is just a bit too long for this movie. All in all still entertaining enough, but the stretch was a bit off. Not so surprising that a short break was inserted after this film. If only because Gibson's haircuts were getting too ridiculous.

2.5*

Unfortunately.

Donner has really slowed down quite a bit here in his series. While part 1 was just entertaining, and part 2 had a lot of momentum, this part lacks both elements a bit. Gibson and Glover are also slightly less.

It's just all been a bit more moderate. The chemistry dilutes here and there, and the tension just isn't there. It's also all quite predictable, and it's kind of a movie that is out of my head.

Least successful so far. Haven't seen part 4 yet, but I doubt I'll like it better.
