It's always nice to re-impose The fugitive: that will remain unchanged 25 years after its release. The story is clichéd with an innocent convict who manages to escape and tries to prove his innocence. Here and there some plot holes and ambiguities, but don't let that spoil the fun! The fugitive is a classic and belongs to the top of its genre. Not least because of the endearing character of Dr. Richard Kimble, which is excellently played by Harrison Ford. Although he is overpowered by the flamboyant deputy Sam Gerard, played by a sublime Tommy Lee Jones. Both take the film to a higher level and make it a nice viewing piece.

It is also interesting to note that attention is also paid to the psychological pressure that rests on a fugitive. Not a moment of rest, always having to look back, having to experience the constant unrest to be picked up, not being able to trust anyone, etc… The despair and fear can also be read on Kimble's face (eg after the fall in the dam when he was in fell asleep in the woods). The film actually consists of 2 parts: on the one hand you have the exciting and captivating flight with the FBI with the cat and mouse as a result, in my opinion the most interesting part of the film. On the other hand, Kimble searches for traces of his wife's real killer and discovers that the motives were more interesting than initially thought.

The action scenes are also quite successful. I especially remember the train disaster. The fall into the water is a bit dated, but that's not so bad. Some may be annoyed that Kimble has an irresistible urge to help patients. Gosh, on the other hand, it creates sympathy for his character (if there wasn't one already). Moreover, the opposite would be unrealistic. For the rest, well filmed, nice supporting music, good casting, in short, they are more than worth 4.0*!

Also for us it is the second time that we see this film and it just continues to fascinate!

Harrison Ford plays the stars from heaven so to speak and the others who have roles in it know what it's like to act. Quality first, a good story and a load of excitement!

Sometimes we wonder, would it be healthy to experience so much in addition to the ordinary ordinary life we lead?

Also sometimes we have the idea that in the past the movies were better, something that is absolutely not true but the idea is alive. And be honest, "The Fugitive" is not a pearl but a necklace of pearls!

We give a 9 for the rating!

A thriller from the 90's that has become somewhat forgotten. Undeservedly so, because this is quite an exciting thriller. Actors in top form with a captivating story. And it certainly doesn't drown in the clichés, even if it is Hollywood. It is striking that Tommy Lee Jones does not play yet another bitten cop who breaks all the rules because he is convinced that he is right and wants to catch a 'bad guy'. Already US Marshall Gerard he mainly does his job and he also has a team behind him. Colorful characters who remain supporting roles, but who still stand out in their own small way.

The thriller comes from a time when it has outgrown the 80s, but also not yet dealing with the phenomenon of the 21st century to aim at a broad audience with a good rating and humor to defuse the tension. A thriller with action and suspense. Tommy Lee Jones and Harrison Ford are in form and strong opponents.

Happy to see this again. Withstood the time much better than I expected. A thriller that is rarely made.
