Game Of Death was mainly a commercial success. After all, there was another film after his death. There were a number of fight scenes recorded by Lee just before his death. Intended for another film titled The Tower Of Death. A project by Lee himself. As everyone knows, Chow and Clouse made off with this material and glued and cut some off. The scenes with the fake Lee are terribly bad.

The story goes that the fight scenes with Lee himself probably wouldn't have made it into any movie because he didn't like them. The fight with Kareem Abdul is legendary.

A lousy display.

The whole movie feels like a mess. Not only is the story and acting subpar, the biggest drawback is the lack of Lee. The stand-in doesn't even appear. Proof that Lee is irreplaceable. The movements alone show that this is not about Lee. Lee is much faster. There is also a big difference in appearance. Billy Lo briefly takes on a different face in the film, perhaps to hide the face of the stand-in. In another scene his face is again in the shadows. It all feels so forced. The inserted close-ups of Lee don't work, often it looks ridiculous. The ending is a relief when you see Lee in all his glory.

They would have been better off putting the real Lee's fights as an extra on his latest released DVD. Boring, bad movie.

Game of Death is a nice film that mainly focuses on the ending in which the real Bruce Lee plays. I don't think a look-a-like is a problem per se, but it just depends on how you deal with it. At first they try to avoid the look-a-like's face so much that the whole image comes across as laughable. The final scene that still stands out in my memory is very memorable and makes up for a lot. After seeing this film I immediately feel like seeing other Bruce Lee's. Then what he 'really' plays in.
