Clearly less than its predecessors, but still entertaining.

The film is easy to watch and there is plenty to do. The emphasis is more on brutal violence than on the car race.

Visually it all looks nice. 6/10

Least part in the series.

The Death Race franchise is more than an excellent series for me as a car enthusiast. Although the first part with Statham naturally stands out. But Roel Reiné's prequels are also fine as long as you don't have too high expectations.

This Beyond Anarchy is a direct sequel to part 1, although the result is somewhat disappointing. After the prison was destroyed in Death Race, it has now been decided to include an infiltration story to permanently eliminate Frankenstein. There is nothing wrong with that in itself, but overall it is an odd one out compared to the other films (at times it looks more like a Mad Max film), because the races are a bit more secondary. There are only 2 races in the entire movie. In the opening scene (which is quite chaotic) and towards the end. In any case, you shouldn't expect a good story. It rattles and is full of holes. For example, if it is discovered that Connor is a spy nothing will be done about it. Why they give Frankenstein a Darth Vader voice I thought was a bit strange, but cool.

Nevertheless, it is not top-shelf junk either. Beyond Anarchy is very gross with brutal kills, blood, gore and even a sex scene. The love plot, which although not much, is actually not annoying and a nice twist at the end. Furthermore, a good pace, great music and a number of exciting moments. It is a pity that it sometimes looks cheap, especially the vehicles, but Don Michael Paul still manages to make it an excellent whole (except for the beginning). Of course, you shouldn't expect Fast and Furious scenes. Although, as I said above, this is the least.

3*

This fourth part of the explosive action film series raises a dark suspicion that director Don Michael Paul might have preferred to direct a porn film. In any case, this kind of old-fashioned nonsense rarely makes it to the big screen and as far as I'm concerned that's completely justified. That does not alter the fact that there is still a nice sense of action, with quickly edited brawls and bombastic car chases. Viewers who do not attach too many criteria to simple action films will certainly get their money's worth, because the violence can be quite high. The pity is that it achieves very little conceptually, is drowned in tired clichés and above all has an excess of bad, disinterested acting. Paul has clearly focused on the coolness of the so-called Frankenstein, but in the meantime it has mainly become a crushed figure.
