In the Middle Ages, it was a turbulent time of peasant revolts. To ensure protection, a monastery is eagerly looking for a relic of Saint Brigitte. A nobleman promises to obtain the sacred object if he receives the hand of the beautiful Agnes as a reward. The monks must now be cunning and try to play a double game.
