The Leblanc family is a wealthy family on the brink of financial ruin. Henri Leblanc is chosen by the family to save the family company. He will have to marry a rich woman. During a train journey he meets Stascha. Henri falls in love with the mysterious woman, who takes refuge with Henri because a certain Dr. Karoff chases her. Stascha seems impotent and so Henri decides to leave the family and the company and flee with her, with Dr. Karoff in pursuit. Stascha and Karoff are united by shared knowledge of a crime. Stascha and Henri flee to Cannes. There Henri informs the police about Karoff. Karoff sees no way out and shoots Stascha...
