Really just a mediocre production with a lot of clichés. Gets away with it somewhat because it's not Hollywood, has its heart in the right place and has some nice scenes.

See, that's how romantic comedies should be. Sharp, humorous, a bit absurd, emotional and with two protagonists who splash off the screen. And this South Korean film is also original with many funny and touching scenes as a result.

The film consists of three parts. In the first part we get to know the characters and is absurd and a bit strange in a fun way. Tae-hyun Cha is cute as the somewhat dopey Kyun-woo, but it's Ji-hyun Jun who impresses the most. She drinks, screams and gets through the day, but we learn for a reason as the film progresses. Beautiful actress. The second and third parts are a bit more sentimental and dramatic, and here too the film is convincing. The rose and piano scene is beautiful and even the greatest cynic will look at the final scene with a smile. Brilliant and atmospheric music too. Beautiful very beautiful.

The first part is a disappointment : absurd, crazy with blunt humor like in a crazy American comedy and with spurious characters.

I think this could have been much more balanced and less extreme, because the second part is a breath of fresh air, clarifies and explains, becomes much more substantive and tackles the theme of love, its persistence and its charm and subtlety.

Towards the end it even gets really beautiful and emotional and with the scene near that tree I involuntarily thought of the final scene from "Love is a many splendored thing".

Not a masterpiece, I think, but still sweet and it could be even better.
