Nice movie with great acting from Woods and Dennehy, but the script falls short in quite a few areas. For example, I can't wrap my head around why that daughter suddenly runs towards Dennehy during the gunfight.

James Woods is outstanding in this action thriller with a distinct noir feel. Brian Dennehy is also in fine form; his character goes by the name Derek Meechum, possibly a reference to the famous German Inspector Derrick and, on the other hand, noir hero Robert Michum. Excellent 80s electro soundtrack by Jay Ferguson (unfortunately not regularly available), a musician who already had several musical lifetimes behind him. The story, a script by Larry Cohen, has been excellently adapted by director John Flynn. Besides the usual thrills, this script contains appropriate humor at the right times, which made me laugh uncontrollably on several occasions. Top entertainment!

Woods in a tight role, co-starring Dennehy, pulls this crime story up to par. The individual shots are perfectly executed, accompanied by matching music from Ferguson. Some nudity makes it fully 80s, with a cameo by Stenke. All in all, easy to watch, with a few clichés here and there..3.2*
