This film shows the disaster of the oil fields ablaze in Kuwait. In contrast to the usual documentaries, there are no comments and only a few interviews. What must have been hell on earth is presented to the viewer in such an intense way, as only Herzog can.

This is an impressive documentary.
Werner Herzog knows well how to convey something like this to the viewer. The commentary is very sporadic and that is enough, because the impressive images speak for themselves.
Images filmed in a beautiful way. Yes, cinematographically and visually it is all very beautiful. But the opposite of the beautiful film work is of course the misery of the event itself. I already knew that oil is a dirty substance, but when you see the misery it causes here, you as a viewer become silent for a moment.
This is a good lesson. A lesson that shows what not to do, otherwise you will quickly help your own planet to its end. This is a keeper.
