Viajo Porque Preciso, Volto Porque Te Amo plot
José Renato, a 35-year-old geologist, is sent on a research trip to the Sertão, a remote rain-deprived region in northeastern Brazil. He must determine the possible routes for the construction of a water channel for the only major river in the region. For many residents, the canal is a lifeline, the chance for a future and a source of hope. But for those who live in the immediate course of the canal it means only expropriation, departure and loss. As his journey progresses, José Renato manifests a similar feeling of emptiness, desolation and isolation with the places he visits.
