Leslie Steele, who has gone to a costume ball at a hotel, is forced to spend the night at this hotel due to very adverse weather conditions. However, there are no more rooms available, so the hotel management asks the handsome but timid lawyer Everard Logan to hand over half of his suite to the attractive Leslie. After a chaste night together, Logan becomes obsessed with Leslie, but assumes that she is out of reach for him because she is married. However, this is not the case. One day, Logan gets his former schoolmate Lord Mere into his office to settle a divorce and assumes that he is divorcing Leslie and that she will soon be single again.
