Weak, very superficial action film that never captivates. The ridiculous action scenes are also brought seriously, which is more laughable than spectacular. Stupid role for Kurylenko and the attempts to give the characters some depth are cringe-inducing, just like the computer blood.

"Her soul is an empty vessel – only Roman blood can fill it." So, then we know where we stand. Beautiful scenery (although I did get tired of the cold color editing at times), full-blooded acting, an acceptably almost romantic interlude (Fassbender and Poots have quite the chemistry together), and a decent ratio of chases and fights. Doesn't sound like a bag at all, but I can't hate it—as Roger Ebert says, "that red is gore-geous."
