After Midnight with Boston Blackie plot
An ex-criminal meets his old lover Betty Barnaby. The naive Betty tells him that her father has recently been released from prison and that he has a safe in a bank, where he hides a bag of stolen diamonds. Betty wants her father to return these diamonds and asks private investigator Horatio 'Boston Blackie' Black to help her. Betty's father is murdered on the way to the bank and Blackie is arrested as the prime suspect by Police Inspector John Faraday. After escaping, Blackie learns that Betty has been kidnapped by mobsters, who want access to her father's bank vault.
