The Phantom Thief plot

The Runt asks his friend Horatio 'Boston Blackie' Black, an ex-criminal-turned-private detective, to help him deal with the shadowy spiritist Doctor Nejino. Blackie soon finds himself dealing with jewelry theft, money laundering, blackmail, murder and magic. Inspector John Farraday sees Blackie as the prime suspect in a jewelry theft and is forced to speed up unmasking the spiritist Nejino.
