Small Prophets plot

The eccentric Michael Sleep has been leading a very ordinary life since the disappearance of his beloved Clea seven years ago. He eats Shreddies, works at a DIY store, visits his father Brian, and hopes that Clea will return. That is just how it goes, until one day his father Brian shares an old recipe involving rainwater, horse manure, and a healthy dose of alchemy. With the recipe in hand, Michael (albeit with a healthy dose of skepticism) sets to work creating Homunculi—magical, prophetic spirits capable of predicting the future—in the hope that they hold the answer to his burning question: 'Will I ever see Clea again?'
