Qui Êtes-Vous, Polly Maggoo? plot
Polly Maggoo is an American girl who comes to Paris as a fashion model. She is presenting a collection in which the models wear aluminum dresses that an ambitious designer wants to pass off as the latest fashion. Polly is applauded by an aggressive, very powerful fashion designer, a dragon of a woman who rules international taste with an iron hand. Polly is suddenly famous and the public becomes grotesquely interested in her. Who is she really? Is she different from other girls or is she just the same? The Inquisition Begins: The TV Show Qui êtes-vous? frantically prepares her portrait. She is subjected to interviews, psychotests, hypnosis, magic. Her family photos are critically examined, to no avail. But the experts keep pushing for her exposure, because all the mannequins are extremely unhappy, crazy, or both.
