Good.

Despite some flaws, a good film. More or less in the same vein as Blair Witch, although I actually liked this one a bit better. Strangely enough, MM seems to have a radically different opinion about this, based on the average. A 2.42 average is downright ridiculous.

Visually it looks a bit cheap at times, but that is easily compensated by a powerful soundtrack, which is particularly setting in the last half hour. The soundtrack alone often provides a lot of atmosphere.

Not much else to report. Definitely an effective film, starts off somewhat doubtfully, but gradually gets better and ends in a sublime way (wonderful ambient). The film even has a handful of strong jump scares. So it is possible after all!

3.5*.

Reasonably effective horror film, although the camera work could have been a bit less jerky. As a result, it often became very vague, but that is something you could expect from Eduardo Sánchez, who was previously co-responsible for the Blair Witch project. The film has a bit of a the same style, although this time it is not 'found footage'. However, I didn't think Seventh Moon was that good, a little less atmospheric, although it did have a nicer soundtrack. Average.

Chaotic editing, a constantly jerky camera, unclear night shots, wafer-thin characters - no, this is not my favorite way to deliver horror, and I am absolutely not "sucked into" a film by camera work that is supposedly supposed to promote disorientation and thus perhaps identification, but which in practice only makes me complain about the director, the cameraman and the editor. Extra half stars for the beautiful music, the suggestive make-up of the creatures and that last shot, otherwise quickly forgotten.
