Hmmm I have my reservations about this movie.
There are a lot of mistakes in it. Snow in the middle of summer apparently because the trees had leaves. Corn was not grown until around 1950, and then they were certainly not in straight rows. Those things pretty much take it off in my eyes.
However, the atmosphere is very good and well put together.
Definitely recommended for children around the age of 8-12.
I give it a 2.5 but can lean towards a 3.

Brave Adventure / Family film, inspired by the Piet Prins book series about a heroic four-legged friend.
Tom (Tom van Kalmthout) hates Germans because his parents were killed in the bombing of Rotterdam in 1940. The only German he does love is his dog, the German Shepherd Snuf (played by three different dogs). Together with Snuf, Tom tries to hide a downed allied pilot (Bas Muijs) from the Germans.
This film has a war tinge due to all the people in hiding, traitors and bombings, but it is mainly a somewhat slow family film about a boy and the bond with his dog. The cliché is not shunned and that one good German is also present again.
Despite the minimal resources, a pleasant polder adventure that looks nice and looks good (especially for children).

There is a lot to say about this film and that is not always positive, but I still enjoyed it. It breathes something like a boy's book, the story is set in a German-occupied village in Friesland and constantly manages to hold the attention. The wind that always blows through the trees, I also find that very pleasant and Snuf the sheepdog of course who always immediately sees whether someone is good or not, haha...
Nope, great snuff movie.
