"The terror begins the second it starts."
Ryan and Michelle are traveling through Texas and come across a gas station during their journey. Here they meet the friendly Tex, who points them to a short route, which is not on the map. When the deranged gas station attendant Alfredo goes crazy, Ryan and Michelle decide to take this route. But it doesn't take long before the pair are lost and don't know where to go. Then, while trying to change their tire in the dark, they meet Leatherface, a murderous maniac with a giant chainsaw.

Disappointment, especially after the unexpectedly strong second part. The whole story is on the mediocre side and the amount of horror and tension is limited. The characters in general are quite disappointing, although it must be said that Ken Foree in particular still plays a nice role.

I don't see this often, but it seems that the series gets a little better with each new part. It started quite badly and this part is slightly better than part 2. Also a new cast and that actually works wonders. The first parts have such bad actors. The setting here is also quite varied and you have a kind of Rambo here, which is also a welcome surprise. A little resistance. Good twist to finally make Viggo part of the Leatherface family. I already thought he belonged, but because of his great acting he can perfectly convey a mock friendliness and that's what he does. His greasy smile also comes in handy here. Nicer kills, a better script and less marginal hassle make for a more pleasant viewing experience for me. Nevertheless, it is still a mediocre series.
