La Donna del Lago plot
A young writer returns for the winter to a summer resort in a small lake town where he used to camp. Here he seeks the peace and solitude he thinks he needs to contemplate his moral dilemma. He goes in search of Tilde, with whom he had a brief sexual relationship in the past. Much to his regret and dismay, the writer discovers that this young woman has been murdered and that her body has been dumped in the nearby lake. He notices that no one wants to talk about this crime and goes out on his own, after the hotel owner's wife is also found dead during his visit.
