"A musical adventure of Double-Stuffed proportions!"
Jimmy runs away to be alone after a bad day at school. He takes his flute with him to relax by the sea. When he puts the flute down for a moment, it turns into pure gold and comes to life. A witch named Witchiepoo sees this and wants the flute. Jimmy doesn't like that of course, and jumps aboard a talking boat, which actually belongs to the witch, who takes him to the sea. The dragon Pufnstuf sees all this, and together with two agents (ants called Cling & Clang) decides to save Jimmy. Jimmy ends up on Living Island, where everything lives, and must find his way back home with the help of Pufnstuf, and other strange characters.
