So this was recently on TV again, it was time for a viewing again. Still a great movie with great roles from Reeves and Bullock, but the roles of Daniels and Hopper are a bit disappointing, which is why the movie doesn't get the full blow from me. The actors on the bus are doing well.
The action is great and well captured. Only downside, it takes a while before they find out who planted the bomb. For the rest, great viewing.

Speed is a rock-solid action classic from the 90s that still looks great today. Next year 25 years old, it is hardly visible. Speed is rightly one of the best action films of the 90s. The film contains a good original story, a good interaction between Bullock and Reaves. Sandra Bullock is amazing by the way. Purely physically a beautiful woman at the time! Humor is also present and the role of the villain is excellently played by Dennis Hopper.
The tension remains to be cut despite the fact that you've already seen it a dozen times or so. The music tune only reinforces that feeling. Not only was the tension on the bus good, also, for example, in the beginning in the elevator. Here and there some imperfections such as the last scene in the metro and that manual bomb, but that should not spoil the fun. Speed is one of those movies I can keep watching. It doesn't sink in anywhere and for the full two hours it remains exciting and keeps you captivated. Partly because of the nice starting point, 3.5 * are more than worth!

My no.3 film, is what you can call a guilty pleasure I was 16 when I first saw it in 1994 and still love it
The cast plays well and you can see the chemistry between Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, and yes who wasn't in love (still a bit) with Sandra. The story is well thought out and yes the action scenes and that the bus cannot be faster than 50 are over the top but that is entertainment and Speed still does that well after 27 years.
