"The strange case of murder by magic!"

When Charlie Chan learns that a writer friend of his has committed suicide, he doesn't trust it and investigates. Soon Chan has a target in mind, namely the cheating paranormal Zodiac. Chan decides to reveal Zodiac's true nature at a big party on Treasure Island in San Francisco.
