The King of Jazz plot
"A NEW ERA in sound and color entertainment!"
This musical is about orchestra leader Paul Whiteman and his orchestra. A cartoon, which includes Walter Lantz's Oswald Rabbit, explains why Whiteman should have earned the title 'King of Jazz'. Some comedy sketches are performed by Laura LaPlante and Slim Summerville and a complete figuralization of Gershwin's 'Rhapsody in Blue' is the highlight of the film. With musical performances by John Boles, the Rhythm Boys (with Bing Crosby) and jazz violinist Joe Venuti.
