The film kicks off with a funny introduction of the characters. You know right away that the film doesn't take itself very seriously. Immediately afterwards it explodes. A fresh combination of action and gore without much disturbing explanation. Full of subtle and less subtle humor. Dry and less dry. Very nice.

Great sfx. A lot of blood, a lot of mush and a lot of meat. Hilarious. The creatures are also more than acceptable. They may appear less pronounced and visible, but their rendering is very dynamically woven into the cauldron that the film is at times. The interpretation of the evil enemy thus remains partly a personal matter and that is fine. In any case, the presence of the creatures is very disturbing. Goal achieved and so here too 'a fine job'.

No wrong characters. Simplistic and easily recognizable. Not too much body and wonderfully stereotypical. They are perfect for this rollercoaster that focuses on everything but deepening the characters and deep dialogue. None of that. The characters are pleasantly interchangeable. Any kind of empathy for someone is hardly possible. And the dialogues are just really entertaining. Wonderfully dry, often nice and nonsensical and they sound nice and stupid.

Feast is a fresh, fast-paced action horror with great special effects. I'm curious about the sequels.

Method of being locked up in a small space, already proven several times in horror films

and being attacked by danger from outside, is exploited extremely well here. With especially

tough editing work in the beginning (Very well done), and the film is quite claustrophobic,

always downright hilarious and at times also very comical, with developments happening quickly

follow pace. I found this to be top entertainment in the comedy horror genre, and at times quite good

filthy.

The sequels in descending line unfortunately significantly less.

setback.

Feast opens very nicely as the film introduces the characters through funny words on the screen. As a result, you immediately feel the comical and light-hearted layer of the film. I understand very well the reviews that claim that the film is fresh, because the first fifteen minutes shines in freshness, which eventually disappears.

Gulager cleverly chooses to keep the monster out of the picture as much as possible during the first half, making the moment they attack for the first time feels briefly overwhelming. The horror suddenly jumps out of the corner after a while and strikes in a bloody and fast way. Characters in this film die quite grotesquely, and in terms of effects I can only praise the film.

But as the story progresses, the comedy fades away, giving way almost entirely to thriller and horror. However, the thriller does not work. The film is never exciting and as a viewer you mainly wait for the attacks of the animals outside. The characters often die quite suddenly, which keeps the pace high, but unfortunately the film does not remain interesting.

The monsters just look drowsy, and once they come into focus, the film completely loses the tough vibe it had in the beginning. The practical effects still look nice, but only fill a small part of the film. Visually nice, nice colors, but the camera work is below average and the editing is not tight enough to keep it interesting as a whole.

The film could have done better to just always remain a comedy, because in the end you're looking at a full-blooded horror and the survival aspect of the film just doesn't work that well. The monsters make too little impression and the tension never cooperates, which makes it boring after a while. Strong gore, fun characters, and that's where the party ends for Feast unfortunately.
