Mediocre film about an attack in Los Angeles involving the use of chemical weapons. Clearly made on a modest budget, keeping the film small-scale. But there is too little progress in the plot which makes it a bit monotonous. The twist at the end is nice, but it doesn't make the film any better.

The set-up of this low-budget thriller is quite nice, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. Brad [Rory Cochrane] is at home when he hears on the radio that several bombs have gone off in downtown Los Angeles, where his wife Lexi [Mary McCormack] works. Initially he wants to save her, but when he hears that it concerns 'dirty bombs' he returns to his house which he has to seal to prevent contamination.

As a viewer, you don't get to see anything about the bombings. Of course that also saves budget, but it also makes it easy to identify with Brad, who is in constant uncertainty with whom you slowly but surely get a clear picture of what is going on. But by telling the story entirely from Brad's perspective, in and around the house, it's almost impossible to keep the suspense going. Director Gorak has to resort to phone calls with relatives to fill the time in anticipation of the not-too-surprising denouement. It certainly would have helped if the radio reporters' voices were more convincing, but this film should have been at least half an hour shorter.

Firmly cheated by the score here on MM (2.87) and on IMDb even +6 I didn't like this much, there is really nothing to experience, a random film recording from the past year and a half, would have been equally fascinating... A drama ...of a movie.
