"When Andy met Edie, life imitated art."
New York, 1965. Edie Sedgwick has everything she could want: She's rich, ambitious and beautiful. However, when Edie meets artist Andy Warhol at his famed club 'The Loft', her life changes completely. From that moment on, she is always by his side and follows him in everything he does or asks of her. However, Warhol hardly returns her love and drives her into the arms of the aggressive musician Danny Quinn.

Warhol has never aroused any sense of sympathy in me. On the other hand, that does not alter the fact that he naturally played a role in his art – but, I find that appreciation for art is quite separate from appreciation for the person.
Guy Pierce plays a fine role—with an ugly character. It comes across as cold, emotionless, and calculating. This stands in stark contrast to the warm, sensitive, and spontaneous Edie played by Sienna Miller—I always find her a beautiful and very strong actress, although this type of role suits her very well, and there is one scene in the downfall where she is somewhat weaker.
What makes the film work a bit less well for me is that it isn't made entirely clear to me exactly what Warhol's success consisted of. Apparently, we are expected to already know that. Nor is it made clear where Edie Sedgwick got her '15 minutes' of fame—which by now has lasted well over 40 years. As her family explains during the opening credits, she was undoubtedly a very special woman with special qualities—but there are many of those, and it doesn't provide a real answer; the lyrics of Ciao Baby by The Cult contain about as much information.
Consequently, actually contrary to my expectations, it is a rather flat film, which is only made worthwhile by the roles of Miller and Pierce.

The story of Edie Sedgwick [Sienna Miller], the initially fabulously wealthy young muse of Andy Warhol [Guy Pearce], who was embraced by Warhol's 'The Factory' and, despite a period in rehab, died at the age of 28 as a result of a drug overdose. Captain Hauzner's screenplay casts a critical light on the acclaimed Warhol and his entourage, although it offers no definitive answer as to who is responsible for Sedgwick's wild, short life. Miller is charismatic and Guy Pearce is phenomenal as the enigmatic Andy Warhol. Hayden Christensen is imitating Bob Dylan more than acting, and his performance looks forced and misses the mark considerably. A polished production, but it is a shame that director George Hickenlooper is more interested in reconstructing Warhol's Greatest Hits than in further developing his central character.

A mediocre drama about Edie Sedgwick (Sienna Miller), who strikes up a relationship with artist Andy Warhol (Guy Pearce) and musician Danny Quinn (Hayden Christensen) in 1965 New York. Miller gives it her all, but her character is quite annoying and the script has little to offer on a dramatic or narrative level.
