The Matchmaker plot
"A comedy for the incurably unromantic."
The Boston senator faces new elections. He sends Marcy, his lovely assistant, to Ireland in search of his roots in the hope of getting more votes. Marcy doesn't know what hit her when she arrives in the village of Ballinagra. The people are rude and drink way too much. The hotel rooms are small and uncomfortable and the pinnacle of this is the annual 'Matchmaker' festival, a party where every single person tries to find their betrothed. Despite all this, Marcy finds an ally in Sean and does have a good time in the village. But then the senator flies in personally to visit his family...
