I absolutely loved that scene in the limo. Nice movie. Her life story came across well. Laurence Fishburn as Ike was incredibly good. It didn't get long-winded at any point. Exactly right. Recommended to watch.

Impressive look into the life of Tina Turner who had a rather eventful lifestyle during her relationship with Ike Turner. Overacting Angela Bassett is quite an understatement. With a little less fanfare, it could have convinced me a little better. Laurence Fishburne, on the other hand, was very convincing. What a character that Ike.

The approach of the film was apparently a film about a woman who was abused by her husband. Tina Turner preferred to focus more on the music and said her life was more than that. She is right of course, but in itself it is good that it is not concealed. And the movie really pays attention to the music.

In that respect, it's all right, with the right people at the wheel. Roger Davies, the manager who launched her solo career, was executive producer on this film. In terms of facts, there is something twisted with history, but in broad terms it does give a picture of Tina Turner. The music is also good because the original tapes were used for the vocals and Tina Turner herself sang the songs for actress Angela Bassett. They have met several times. Laurence Fishburne

saw Ike Turner only once, Fishburne sang his songs himself.

The course of the film is a typical rise & fall, as you see more with biopics. On the other hand, Tina Turner's life is quite interesting and more than music. And when the music is discussed, it is clear with the right attention. With people who know what they are doing. Because the story could be more of an atmosphere than exact facts, but the music had to be right.

The film is therefore primarily a film for lovers of the music of Tina Turner. The whole thing is quite interesting. A somewhat forgotten biopic, which is definitely worth checking out.
