"Every picture tells a story."
Paris, 1969. The shooting of a science fiction film set in 2001 is problematic. The director's obsession with the lead actress has deteriorated his judgment, and the film has no end. When the director is eventually fired, the young American mechanic is tasked with coming up with a happy ending. However, this proves to be no easy task, as the line between his fantasy and reality becomes increasingly blurred.
