I can't say I was disappointed. It is a succession of skits with a short vacation as a common thread. Just sit back, don't think too much and you can laugh about it too. Candy was my favorite here whether it's water skiing already or with a bald bear chasing him , as a comedian he steals the show. Aykroyd is not for me and the young Annette Bening made her debut here as Aykroyd's annoying wife. But from John Hughes' stable, I liked "Planes, Trains & Automobiles" a lot better, although the idea of two guys who can't stand each other returns here, and Hughes himself is the driving force behind this comedy.

Typical American feel-good film from the 80s. Dan Akroyd and John Candy provide the spectacle. But to be honest, I expected more from these two top comedians. Most comedic situations didn't really make me laugh.

3*
