Orson Welles: The One-Man Band plot
The film focuses on Welles' late period, when he roamed Europe in a self-chosen exil, always carrying a camera and a portable editing table in his luggage. Welles himself financed his films at that time (which almost always remained unfinished) by acting as an actor in films by others. A unique production method about which he himself said: 'I use my own work to subsidize my work, in other words, I am crazy!'. A joke with a bitter undertone, because Hollywood producers really considered him insane and made it impossible for him to work in America.
