Far away, in the Russian wilderness, the postman Lyokha sails around and delivers the mail with his small motorboat. The residents of Kenozero Lake live on an island separated from the outside world. Lyokha is the only contact between the island and the mainland and with his boat he is the bridge between the two worlds. But when his boat's engine is stolen and the woman he loves plans to leave the island with her son Timur, a very different life begins for the postman. What follows is a journey of self-discovery, love and demons of the past.
