The Black Rose plot
"An adventure that will blaze... A love that will flame... 'till the stars grow cold..."
The story is about the 13th century Saxon nobleman Walter of Gurnie (Tyrone Power), who does not feel at home in Norman-ruled England. He decides to try his luck in the Far East. Accompanied by his friend Tristram Griffin (Jack Hawkins), Walter is introduced to the megalomaniac warlord Bayan (Orson Welles). As they travel further they arrive in China, where they are treated with respect - as long as they don't try to leave.
